Zurich – Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) continues to expand its European business by strengthening its restructuring presence in Switzerland. A&M’s new Managing Director Alessandro Farsaci has joined the firm to build and lead the Swiss Restructuring practice.

Mr. Farsaci brings 18 years of experience in restructuring, corporate finance and credit recovery. He has worked with clients across a range of industries including retail, consumer goods and industrial manufacturing. During his career, he has advised on many financial restructuring, turnaround management, and sell-side distressed M&A projects in the context of insolvency procedures. Mr. Farsaci has successfully advised company board and management members in both stressed and distressed situations. He has also advised investors aiming to invest in distressed assets or successful corporates facing issues with troubled suppliers.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Farsaci spent more than 11 years in the restructuring advisory practice of two Big Four audit firms in Zurich. Most recently, he worked in the restructuring team of KPMG in Switzerland. In this role, he contributed significantly to developing and establishing the Swiss practice in the market he co-headed, successfully leading more than 40 restructuring mandates and assisting boards and C-suite levels of businesses, lenders and investors.

A&M opened its first Swiss office in Zurich last year. The new Swiss group covers a broad range of capabilities and offerings including restructuring, transaction advisory, corporate transformation, life sciences and forensic and dispute services. By the end of this year, the team expects to expand to at least six local team members, giving them the capabilities with relevant expertise to tend to clients’ needs in this region. Along with Zurich, the firm has also recently expanded its Restructuring practice into the Nordics with the opening of the Oslo office in Norway.

The hiring of Mr. Farsaci also underscores A&M’s integrated approach to offer support and services to companies experiencing all phases of growth.
