James Pfeiffer is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Corporate Performance Improvement in Chicago. He specializes in operational improvement and supply chain management.

With more than 25 years of line management and consulting experience, Mr. Pfeiffer has helped companies grow revenue, reduce costs, and reduce risk through transformation of organizations, processes and technology. His experience spans a broad range of industries including consumer packaged goods, agribusinesses, automotive, banking, chemicals, insurance, government, oil and gas (upstream and downstream), pulp and paper, technology, telecommunications and waste management. 

Most recently, Mr. Pfeiffer served as co-founder of Wastebuilt Environmental Solutions—the premier parts, service, and equipment provider to the refuse industry, where he integrated ten acquisitions in five years.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Pfeiffer was involved in supply chain engagements with PwC, where he led a variety of engagements on a global scale. He began his career at Exxon, where he served in a variety of roles including business planning, marketing, sales, and engineering.

Mr. Pfeiffer earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri and an MBA from Washington University. He serves on the board of directors of the Institute of Supply Management (ISM) Electronic Supply Management group, and as Director for Professional Services for Perfect Commerce, a supply chain solutions provider.
