Chao Sun

Most recently, Mr. Sun led multiple operational due diligence projects to support private equity clients with their investment decision-making across different sectors in China, including a leading cosmetic retailer, juice company, dessert restaurant chain, English language teaching institute and retailer of mother-and-baby care.
Previously, Mr. Sun led a project developing operational improvements and restructuring for a restaurant chain in China. He acted as interim CEO to re-organize HQ and regional offices to improve G&A cost, centralize procurement to save COGS, implement initiatives for revenue enhancement, develop an exit strategy for investors and lead the restructuring process.
Mr. Sun’s other notable experiences include interim management and advisory services (turning around a potato starch business group in China); restructuring a plantation and floor manufacturing business group in China; winding down a factory for a JV between a European listing company and a Chinese SOE; liquidating a China WFOE for a global container solution provider; crisis management and production stabilization for a Chinese chemical manufacturer de-listed from NASDAQ; and advising multiple global companies during their Chapter 11 period.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Sun spent two years with Welch’s Food Inc., where he served as General Manager of China. He established Welch’s Juice business and manufacture facility in China from scratch, and led the local business to achieve triple digit growth. Mr. Sun also served in senior leadership roles in sales and marketing functions with Paramount Farms, Oriflame Cosmetics, The Hershey’s Company and Hewlett-Packard.
Mr. Sun earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Tsinghua University and an MBA from Rutgers Business School in New Jersey. He is fluent in Mandarin and English.
