Christian Büchelhofer

Dr. Büchelhofer provides valuation advice to C-Suite executives and PE investors, supporting their decision making by attaching a value to available entrepreneurial options. His focus on value creation accelerates the negotiation process among stakeholders in critical business decisions. He specializes in valuation advice in distressed M&A and restructuring settings, group reorganizations, legal disputes, transactional settings and for financial reporting purposes.
As an independent expert, Dr. Büchelhofer has issued various fairness and expert valuation opinions. His expert opinions in financial restructurings have accelerated refinancing negotiations with capital providers. Dr. Büchelhofer works closely with legal advisors, evaluating options from a value impact perspective to optimize the outcome of legal disputes. He also has extensive experience in reorganizing core deliverables of the finance function in various industries by implementing a transparent, consistent and accessible KPI-based performance measurement which supports C-suite executives in steering business operations.
Dr. Büchelhofer provides counsel to PE investors and corporate clients ranging from start-up and medium-sized firms to large publicly listed companies. He has worked with clients across various industries including financial institutions, industrials, consumer products, automotive, pharmaceuticals and biotech. Dr. Büchelhofer is a guest lecturer at German universities, speaks at conferences and regularly authors publications on topics related to valuation and transaction advice.
Dr. Büchelhofer earned a Diplom-Kaufmann degree from the European Business School, Oestrich-Winkel, a master’s degree in business research and a doctoral degree (Dr. oec. publ.) in financial economics from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
