Stephen Moon is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in London. He brings more than 24 years of experience in performance improvement, PMI and carve-outs.

With more than 30 years of experience in the engineering and industrial sectors, Mr. Moon’s primary focus areas are operational transformation, post-acquisition value creation, operational due diligence and interim management. He has worked with industrial clients across private equity, including engineering, R&D, medical devices, aerospace, automotive, packaging and precision engineering and manufacturing.

Mr. Moon is known for quickly getting to the core issues; his strong, data-led approach; and his gift for speedy implementations. His hands-on leadership style brings projects to life during 100-day plans and enables rapid transformation under extreme cash and time pressures.

Additionally, Mr. Moon’s notable projects include work for TK Elevators, ITP Aero, AR Packaging, Collins Aerospace, Mettis Aerospace, Munters plc, Kerion Biopharma, Trivium Packaging and Stada Arzneimittel, covering over 60 diligences, along with 70+ turnarounds in various engineering/manufacturing businesses.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Moon ran an independent turnaround and operational advisory practice, serving in 35+ interim roles, acting for bank work-out teams and holding senior management positions in automotive, aerospace, manufacturing and engineering companies. He brings over 14 years of experience in C-suite roles, including serving as chief restructuring or transformation officer.

Mr. Moon earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical and manufacturing systems from the University of Bradford. He is a Chartered Engineer; Whitworth Scholar; Member of the Institute for Turnaround; Member of the Institute for Mechanical Engineers; and a Member of the Institute of Directors. A British national, Mr. Moon is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
