Sicco Tans

With more than 20 years of industry and consulting experience, Mr. Tans has worked with clients across many functions and industries. Most recently, he was responsible for the process and organizational transformations of a leading retail merchandising and fixtures manufacturer.
Mr. Tans’ notable assignments in operational improvement include the organizational restructuring of a $5 billion global packaging company, where he enabled a growth strategy and achieved $40 million in cost reduction. He also established the Enterprise Project Management (EPM) function for a leading training services provider to manage a business transformation from a classroom-oriented to a multi-mode educational provider. Additionally, Mr. Tans led process improvements and G&A reduction for a $160 million environmental services company, which led to the doubling of EBITDA and the successful sale of the company.
Mr. Tans’ notable assignments in margin management include the establishment of pricing processes and the rolling out a compensation program for a restoration services company, which resulted in a 25 percent EBITDA improvement. For a digital print and marketing communications company, he developed cost and customer profitability transparency, created an account planning process and implemented a $3 million price increase for underperforming accounts. For a global environmental lining manufacturer, Mr. Tans implemented and pricing tool and process, and shifted the sales force from a fixed to variable pay model. He successfully improved gross profits by three percentage points globally.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Tans worked in the private equity practice at Arthur D. Little in New York. Previously, he worked in consulting for The Boston Consulting Group, and in industry for Lucent Technologies, Pitney Bowes and Nortel.
Mr. Tans earned a bachelor’s degree (magna cum laude) in computer science, and a Master of Engineering degree from Cornell University. He also earned an MBA (with distinction) from the New York University Stern School of Business.
