NEW YORK – Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC, an affiliate of leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), announced that Ken Brewer has joined the firm’s international tax team as a Senior Advisor supporting its national tax practice.

With more than 40 years of experience working with multinational corporations on federal and international tax matters, including cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A), intellectual property, supply chain and debt capitalization issues, Mr. Brewer has significant expertise in designing and implementing multinational corporate structures in the most tax-efficient manner possible. 

Previously, Mr. Brewer was with one of the Big Four accounting firms.  He joins A&M Taxand with an impressive track record and a deep understanding of the tax implications of complex business transactions and arrangements as well as experience in identifying opportunities to achieve tax savings.   Mr. Brewer has worked across a variety of sectors including financial services, biotech, pharmaceutical and manufacturing, among others.

Mr. Brewer’s extensive background spans a range of international tax matters, including captive insurance and tax treaty issues, taxable presence exposure, tax law aspects of related party transfer pricing and outbound transfers and inversions.  

Mr. Brewer earned a BBA in accounting from the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) and a JD from the University of Miami (Coral Gables) School of Law.  He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
