Ben Cairns

Mr. Cairns helps clients evaluate turnaround and solvent solutions, as well as planning for and delivering financial restructurings. He has worked with companies across various industries including healthcare, retail/leisure, real estate, oil and gas, financial services (banking, insurance, and investment management), mining, commodities, and shipping. In addition to his UK clients, he has worked extensively in the UAE, Germany, UK offshore jurisdictions, and the Caribbean. He has also had cross-border roles in the Netherlands, Luxembourg, and Finland.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Cairns spent 23 years with EY, where he most recently served as Partner in the Restructuring practice and lead of its Financial Services Restructuring team in the UK and Ireland. Prior to that, he acted as head of the Alternative Capital Providers client/market channel for EMEIA, driving the coordination of pursuits across the region.
Mr. Cairns earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Bristol. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and a licensed insolvency practitioner in the UK, ADGM, and DIFC. He sat on the ICAEW council and was chair of the Insolvency Technical Committee.
