Harish Kumar

Mr. Kumar has led more than 50 diligence, restructuring and performance improvement engagements covering banking, speciality lending, loan servicing, payment services, fund administration, and trust and corporate services across Europe. He has reviewed more than €500 billion face value loan books in 20+ jurisdictions in Europe.
Most recently Mr. Kumar advised a PE fund on six acquisitions as part of their buy and build strategy. He assisted with synergy realisation, as well as planning and tracking. Other notable diligence engagements include Newday, Blue Step Bank, Capita Asset Services, TMF, Nest Bank and Propertize.
Previously, Mr. Kumar assisted Hypo Alpe Adria Bank with its restructuring of nearly €8.6 billion in non-performing loans that spread over 11 countries. He helped develop a separate entity and business plan for the wind-down. Additional engagements include: assisting with the creation of SAREB in Spain, assisting the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA) with valuations to facilitate loan acquisitions from participating financial institutes in the Republic of Ireland; portfolio management, wind-down and reporting of $1.5 billion in Lehman Brothers Holdings International’s assets consisting of portfolio of NPLs, real estate, private equity and listed securities in Asia.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Kumar worked with Coats Plc, where he co-led the company’s annual strategy and planning exercise with sales and finance heads of various subsidiaries across 67 countries, and coordinated due diligence from the commercial side in its sale to the Guinness Peat Group.
Mr. Kumar earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata. He also holds a CFA and CAIA charter. A UK national, Mr. Kumar is fluent in English and Hindi.
