Kevin M. Jacobs, who recently left the Internal Revenue Service to lead Alvarez & Marsal Taxand’s National Tax Office, was quoted in Tax Notes about the current status of Federal Register review.
Based on Mr. Jacobs’s presentation at the annual International Fiscal Association USA branch meeting, the Tax Note article reports that the “IRS and Treasury are no longer routinely asking the Federal Register for expedited review immediately before the publication of regs.
‘There’s been a turn, generally, in the [IRS] requesting the expedited service,’ Kevin M. Jacobs of Alvarez & Marsal Taxand LLC said.”
