O ano de 2021 foi difícil para o Sport. O time caiu pela sexta vez para a segunda divisão, perdendo, assim, 80% de sua receita em 2022. Ao prejuízo financeiro se soma a conturbada vida administrativa do clube, que teve até uma recente renúncia presidencial.

Ainda assim, a gestão do clube pernambucano promete para 2022 colocar as contas em dia, realizar uma transformação digital e voltar a estar entre as grandes equipes do País.
