Alvarez & Marsal Bolsters Health and Human Services Sector Experience
Industry veteran Christopher Baglio brings over 30 years of experience in implementing state-wide health programs for populations with complex needs
New York – Leading global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) continues its strategic health and human services sector capabilities expansion with the addition of Chicago-based Christopher Baglio as a Senior Director. Joining the firm’s Public Sector Services practice, Dr. Baglio’s appointment demonstrates A&M’s commitment to the health and human services sector following the recent hire of industry veteran Ernie Weyand.
Dr. Baglio brings over 30 years of public and private sector experience implementing state-wide programs for individuals with complex needs. He has directed state-wide home and community-based service (HCBS) oversight, and supported state efforts to manage and eliminate Medicaid waiver waiting lists through quality management and performance improvement.
At A&M, Dr. Baglio will focus on helping state and local government clients, across the U.S., maximize their resources and results for health and human services programs.
“Christopher has successfully worked with both state and local agencies to transform service delivery systems and achieve meaningful outcomes for individuals with complex needs,” said Wanda Seiler, a Managing Director with A&M’s Public Sector Services practice. “He possesses profound industry knowledge ranging from clinical management experience, program development and implementation to research methodology and developmental issues. His ability to deliver effective solutions, rooted in science, to complex challenges dovetails with A&M’s operational heritage and results-driven mindset.”
Dr. Baglio specializes in building programs for complex populations across a wide spectrum of disorders. He has helped numerous states develop reliable tools, capture practical information and facilitate quality initiatives across divisions.
Dr. Baglio founded Development Trends, an organization that established programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities. He was also an adjunct professor for over 17 years at Olivet Nazarene University, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in learning and behavior, assessment and research methodology. A well-published scholar who has presented at dozens of national conferences, he currently reviews manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders (JADD).
Dr. Baglio earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, a master’s degree in child development from the University of California, Davis and a doctorate degree in ethical leadership from Olivet Nazarene University. Additionally, he is a graduate of the National Leadership Institute on Developmental Disabilities from the University of Delaware and an Ambassador to Charting the LifeCourse.
