A&M Consumer and Retail Group worked hand-in-hand with the client team to launch a full scale transformation, including a full cost take out effort. Focus areas included G&A, strategic sourcing, in-store merchandising, product simplification, utilizing a program management approach to track progress over a multi-year horizon to ensure impact and sustainability. The joint work positioned the company to drive over $150 million in EBITDA improvement.​

Deep productivity improvement plan and supply chain optimization for a US apparel products company

With additional pandemic-driven challenges placed upon the supply chain, the client engaged A&M Consumer and Retail Group in the US to significantly improve supply chain productivity and reduce costs. Together with the client, A&M CRG implemented a series of initiatives across distribution center operations, as well as inbound and outbound transportation, that improved work flows, reduced labor, and lowered negotiated rates. The result was approximately a 15% reduction in supply chain costs.

A&M’s client, one of the world’s largest brewing companies, needed help to identify cost reductions and performance improvement opportunities to create free cash flow in order to refocus investment on an ambitious brand portfolio strategy. A&M undertook a comprehensive six-week Rapid Results Diagnostic to develop a shortlist of consolidated opportunities and quick wins. A&M delivered several initiatives with cumulative €10+ million impact that could be immediately realized and fund the company’s investment needs.

The client engaged A&M Consumer and Retail Group to launch a debt and EBITDA improvement initiative launch. A major portion of work centered on cost takeout, addressing site improvement, sourcing, supply chain, inventory optimization, warranty and pricing. Another focus area was debt restructuring, and performance and impact tracking, which included A&M serving key interim leadership roles. A&M CRG’s joint work with the client positioned the company to restructure over $1 billion in debt and improved EBITDA by over 30% over a 2-year period.​

One of Europe’s largest manufacturers and distributors of domestic appliances needed help against new market entrants by re-establishing its consumer value proposition. Across several markets, A&M conducted a market capability analysis and generated essential consumer insights and branch benchmarks to create rapid improvement opportunities to reposition the brand, guide resources, and increase sales. The resulting marketing plans and consumer brand experience execution produced significant and rapid uplifts in consumer sentiment with sales increases for specific products over 20%​

A world-leading FMCG company engaged A&M to prepare the carve-out of its food manufacturing division that operated across three continents with a multi-billion brand portfolio. A&M identified significant opportunities to improve profitability and cash flow generation within trade terms, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, R&D, SG&A and working capital. The joint team refined the manufacturing footprint, created bottoms-up, country-by-country functional organizational structures and a new operating model, whilst also delivering the identified performance improvement savings of 5-8% across functional areas.
