1. What training can I expect as a new hire?
A&M views the learning and development of our employees as a strategic priority. We provide both formal and informal opportunities for our people to learn and grow. Our learning and development strategy aligns to our Competency Guide and Learning Ladder, which is a collection of key skills identified for each career level within the organization.
Our formal curriculum is comprised of classroom, virtual classroom, eLearning and self-study courses. Across all levels within the organization, our program emphasizes both the development of core consulting skills and functional / industry expertise including supply chain, CFO services, change management, and more.
As a campus hire, you can expect to take around 100 hours of training your first year. This would include:
- A weeklong onboarding session with your start group
- A weeklong level-specific training with your peers called Consulting Essentials
- A weeklong problem solving course called Core Competencies (C2) to learn the A&M Way problem solving
- Various technical skills training is then available for you to sign-up for – i.e. Data Analysis and Business Modeling, Business Writing, Financial Acumen, MS Office courses, etc.
After your foundational training is complete, over 50 courses are available to you throughout the year to continue to grow and develop your skills.
A&M continues to invest significantly in learning and development. As a result, we will continue to expand our formal offerings, to provide additional learning and development options specific to our culture, as well as your level, solution and industry area.
