Thailand BOI Alert on the Period for Filing Progress Reports

On April 20, 2026, the Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) amended the reporting period for the submission of progress reports.[1] Previously, such reports were required to be filed via the BOI online system twice per year, in February and July, following the issuance of the BOI Promotion Certificate.

Under the new requirement, BOI-promoted companies are required to submit progress reports four times per year, on a quarterly basis, starting from the issuance date of the BOI Promotion Certificate until the project has been granted approval for the official commencement of operations.

The progress reports must be submitted within 60 days of the end of each quarter, as outlined below.

Reporting Quarter EndSubmission Deadline (within 60 days)
Q1 MarchBy the end of May
Q2 JuneBy the end of August
Q3 SeptemberBy the end of November
Q4 DecemberBy the end of February (following year)

For promoted projects approved during a quarter, the first progress report must be submitted in the following reporting quarter.

Non-compliance with this requirement may result in the suspension of the incentives and privileges granted under the Promotion Certificate. Furthermore, failure to submit progress reports for two consecutive periods may lead to the revocation of such incentives and privileges[2].

Who Is Impacted by These Updates

All Thailand BOI-promoted companies whose projects have not yet been granted approval for the official commencement of operations will be subject to this new requirement.

Companies should ensure timely compliance with the revised progress report submission timeline to mitigate the risk of non-compliance, including the potential suspension or revocation of incentives and privileges.
