On November 6, 2023, WeWork Inc. and certain affiliate companies (collectively, the “Debtors”) each voluntarily filed petitions in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey seeking protection under Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code (the “Chapter 11 Proceedings”).

In connection with the Chapter 11 Proceedings, WeWork Inc. has also sought relief pursuant to Part IV of the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act, R.S.C. 1985, c. C-36, as amended (the “CCAA”) and Section 106 of the Courts of Justice Act, R.S.O. 1990, c C.43, on behalf of the Debtors’ Canadian entities 9670416 Canada Inc., WeWork Canada GP ULC, WeWork Canada LP ULC, 700 2 Street Southwest Tenant LP, 4635 Lougheed Highway Tenant LP and 1090 West Pender Street Tenant LP (the “Canadian Business”), and also in respect of WeWork Companies U.S. LLC, a Delaware entity.

On November 7, 2023, among other things, the CCAA court granted an interim stay of proceedings in respect of the Canadian Business. 

Alvarez & Marsal Canada Inc. is the Proposed Information Officer in respect of the proceedings pursuant to Part IV of the CCAA.
