Todd Martin is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Restructuring & Turnaround in Vancouver. He brings more than 25 years of experience in statutory restructuring appointments and court-sanctioned mandates in Canada, including engagements as a Monitor under the Companies Creditors' Arrangement Act (CCAA) and formal insolvency appointments under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (Canada).

Mr. Martin has wide experience advising corporate debtors and boards, senior secured lenders and syndicates, bondholders, trading houses, regulators, governments and sovereign credit insurers. He has worked in a variety of industries, including mining, energy, forestry, pulp and paper, real estate and construction, financial services and retail.

Mr. Martin's notable engagements include acting as court-appointed Monitor under the CCAA and Foreign Representative under Chapter 15 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code of Angiotech Pharmaceuticals, ENTREC Corporation, Monitor under the CCAA of Mountain Equipment Co-operative, North American Tungsten Corporation, Sterling Shoes Inc., and financial advisor to the senior lenders in the CCAA restructuring of Catalyst Paper and the Chapter 11 bankruptcy of CHC Group (Canadian Helicopters Corp). 

Mr. Martin's significant international restructuring experience includes the liquidation of the Bank of Credit & Commerce (Hong Kong). He advised the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency and the Creditors' Steering Committee in the consensual debt restructuring of Asia Pulp & Paper Co. Mr. Martin also has restructuring experience in the U.S., the Caribbean and Europe. He has worked extensively in the forestry, pulp and paper, mining and other natural resource and energy sectors, acting in numerous operating situations and turnarounds involving going-concern divestitures.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Martin was a Partner with KPMG LLP, serving as Partner-in-Charge of Transaction Advisory in Western Canada, and as Chair and Director of KPMG Inc., their restructuring and insolvency practice.

Mr. Martin earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Simon Fraser University. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (Canadian CA), a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP), and a Licensed Insolvency Trustee. Mr. Martin is a past director of the Canadian Insolvency Foundation, served on the CIRP Commercial Insolvency Committee, and is a member of the Insolvency Institute of Canada and INSOL.
