Telmo Prata
Mr. Prata brings more than 15 years of experience advising private equity firms, corporates, and lender groups across the UK, Europe, and Africa. He specializes in financial due diligence, business plan reviews, liquidity assessments, valuations, and financial modeling, working on both traditional M&A transactions and complex distressed situations.
Mr. Prata has worked on a wide range of buy- and sell-side transactions, including complex multijurisdictional groups, carve-outs, and founder-led businesses preparing for investment. His experience spans diverse sectors, including engineering and construction, industrials and manufacturing, retail, education, and software services.
In addition to traditional diligence, Mr. Prata has strong capabilities in distressed and special situations, supporting lenders, sponsors, and management teams with independent business plan reviews, liquidity analyses, and value-recovery assessments during periods of financial stress.
At A&M, Mr. Prata has been involved in the investment in Acteon (a global specialist engineering, services, and technology solutions provider to the offshore energy sector) by Buckthorn Partners and One Equity Partners; the acquisition of Poundstretcher by Fortress Investment Group; the acquisition of LED Group (a leading supplier of energy-efficient lighting solutions) by Oaktree Capital Management; the investment in Agilera Pharma AS (a leading global contract development and manufacturing organisation) by PharmaLogic (a portfolio company of Webster Equity Partners) and MedEquity Capital; vendor due diligence for a UK publicly listed manufacturer and supplier of domestic small appliances; and financial due diligence to support the refinancing of a UK provider of vocational training and apprenticeships. Previously, Mr. Prata was part of A&M’s financial and restructuring team in London.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Prata served with EY-Parthenon’s Turnaround & Restructuring Strategy practice in London.
Mr. Prata earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from ISCTE Business School, University Institute of Lisbon. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder. A British and Portuguese national, Mr. Prata is fluent in English and Portuguese, and he has intermediate proficiency in Spanish.
