Soumik’s work spans the full transformation life cycle, from operations excellence, asset management, capital strategy, and governance, to operational readiness, cost optimization, financial efficiency, leadership, and digital transformation. He specializes in simplifying complex programs, helping capital-intensive clients bridge strategy and execution, and ensuring these initiatives are designed within resource constraints and delivered in practice, not just on paper. His goal is to leave operations faster, safer, smarter, and ready to scale, maintaining the balance between value creation and value protection.

With more than 16 years of consulting and line management experience, Soumik has served as a trusted advisor and coach to senior leaders across the Middle East, Australia, Africa, and Asia–Pacific. He has led programs delivering double-digit step-change throughput improvements, sustained cost reductions of 10–20%, and successful execution of multiple integrations, future strategy design, and implementation.

Soumik is known to combine traditional consulting principles with a focus on emerging technologies and sustainability to enhance business performance and resilience. He is regarded as a hands-on advisor and coach, and believes that sustainable transformation is achieved through people, leadership, and capability, not systems and tools alone.

Soumik works with leadership and front-line teams to improve ways of working and build a performance culture, while ensuring that systems, processes, and digital enablers reinforce ownership, accountability, and disciplined execution. He is passionate about learning, innovation, and collaboration and has published thought leadership on industry topics.

Prior to joining A&M, Soumik spent 13 years working in various consulting capacities with Accenture, Nomura, and DowDuPont. Before becoming a consultant, he worked as an operations and maintenance engineer for mining and energy companies.

Soumik earned a bachelor’s degree in metallurgy and materials engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur and an MBA from the Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad. He has also earned qualifications as a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), Project Management Professional (PMP), and Certified Scrum Master (CSM), as well as certification in Lean Six Sigma, ISO 55001:2024, and ISO 14001:2015.
