Most recently at A&M, Mr. Bocharov spent three years involved in an in-store business process efficiency analysis (Pyaterochka retail chain, part of X5); analysis of trade chain cluster management process and geographical supervisory functions; creation and implementation of a digitally enabled grocery work force management model; operational efficiency and cost optimization project at Stockmann; and education of ineffective working capital though optimization of logistics quantum, creating digital tools for assessment of optimal supplier box size based on trade chain data.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Bocharov served as Head of Controlling of X5 Retail Group (19,000+ stores in Russia), operating in convenience and supermarket segments with $30 billion turnover. Previously, he served as Chief Financial Officer of Russian Standard Vodka, where he was involved in building commercial and production controlling, optimizing value chain of alcohol production, sales and trade operations.
Additionally, Mr. Bocharov spent 10 years in finance management with British American Tobacco and Philip Morris International; worked in production controlling at cigarette factories in St. Petersburg, Boncourt, Ukraine and Uzbekistan; was in charge of BAT Operations Finance Eastern Europe, overseeing manufacturing controlling of seven factories; and worked in marketing finance, evaluating marketing spend effectiveness, HORECA strategy for the Swiss market in BAT Switzerland and performance of marketing agencies. At PMI Russia, Mr. Bocharov oversaw commercial finance function, worked on a project of decentralization of commercial function, formation of geographically spread regional finance function, controlling and evaluating marketing investments.
Mr. Bocharov earned a bachelor’s degree in economics (honours) from Herzen University of St. Petersburg. A Russian national, he is fluent in English and conversational in German.
