Scott Rickert is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Private Equity Performance Improvement in Los Angeles. He specializes in performance improvement and M&A advisory as part of the firm’s Technology Industry Group. His primary areas of concentration are operational due diligence, carve-outs, integration planning, forecasting and pricing.

With more than 15 years of experience, Mr. Rickert has led numerous complex M&A engagements and time sensitive turnarounds to achieve and accelerate outcomes for clients. 

Mr. Rickert’s notable assignments include advising a strategic buyer on the purchase of a carve-out business in a 363 bankruptcy process; diligence and value creation on a take private deal that increased EBITDA over 20% in one year; and successfully leading the turnaround of a growth equity investment to break even profitability from a $30 million EBITDA loss. 

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Rickert spent six years with KPMG Strategy, where he led numerous operational diligence and performance improvement engagements for TMT and private equity clients. Before that, he worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers in their financial diligence and assurance practice. 

Mr. Rickert earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from The University of Arizona and an MBA from The University of Southern California. Additionally, he has earned a certificate in artificial intelligence from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a certificate in corporate finance from The University of Southern California. Mr. Rickert is a licensed CPA in the State of California, and sits on the finance council of St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church and School.
