Saikat Dutta is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal’s Corporate Finance and Restructuring Practice in Mumbai. He brings 16 years of experience in investment banking, with a primary focus on inbound and outbound M&A, sales and divestitures, JV advisory, PE fund raises, restructuring and valuations.

Mr. Dutta has worked with domestic and multinational clients in various industries including manufacturing, packaging, recycling and sustainability, chemicals, healthcare, logistics and industrials.

Mr. Dutta’s notable transactions include advising ACRE and a consortium of nine global special situation funds in restructuring $776 million debt of a leading alloy steel manufacturer, Jayaswal Neco Industries Limited; advising the working capital lender consortium on the one-time restructuring of debt of $1.5 billion for Future Retail Limited under the RBI’s Resolution Framework for COVID-19 related stress; advising B.C. Jindal Group on the acquisition of Treofan Germany; and advising Quest Diagnostics, Inc. on the sale of their medical diagnostics services business in India to Strand Life Sciences.

Previously, Mr. Dutta advised Jindal Poly Films on the $103 million acquisition of Netherlands headquartered Apeldoorn Flexible Packaging Holding BV; advised on the sale of India chemical ingredients distribution business of MK Ingredients and SSD Industries to Azelis SA, Belgium; and worked on the sale of Unify India, a Siemens-Gores Group JV company providing system integration solutions for integrated communication to enterprise customers, to Progility Plc, UK. 

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Dutta spent more than six years with the Corporate Finance team at KPMG India, serving most recently as Associate Vice President. He worked on M&A transactions and PE fund raises in manufacturing, industrials and logistics. Mr. Dutta started his career in telecom software development with Hewlett Packard and Motorola

Mr. Dutta earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering from PESIT, Bangalore and an MBA from IIM Bangalore.
