Ms. Shah has worked with fund managers across different investment strategies, including private equity, venture capital, credit and special situations, real estate and infrastructure funds, hedge funds, digital assets, and multi-family offices.

Ms. Shah advises fund managers on investment platform tax incentive schemes, carried interest and other compensation matters, permanent establishment, tax reporting, operations and governance, and tax controversies. She also advises on international tax matters for inbound and outbound investments in the Asia–Pacific region, including recommendations for efficient holding structures, funds flow, and buy-side as well as sell-side transaction tax diligence. Ms. Shah advises on exit options, eligibility for tax treaty claims, substance requirements, and cash repatriation strategies.

Ms. Shah regularly interacts with the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS), representing her clients in the fund management industry as well as contributing to policy-level discussions.

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Shah was a Partner at EY in Singapore, in the Financial Services Tax practice. She has also held roles at PwC in both Singapore and India, and at BMR Advisors in India, serving clients in the financial services industry.

Ms. Shah earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce from the University of Mumbai, specializing in accounts, finance, and tax, and she is a qualified Chartered Accountant with The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).
