Nawal Nely Ahmad

Ms. Ahmad’s experience covers multiple sectors, from the restructuring of a $750 million loan portfolio belonging to a leading systemic bank in Indonesia, to the restructuring of over 1,000 megawatts of power purchase agreements in the energy sector. She has also been involved in the portfolio restructuring of state-owned companies in the plantation, aviation, construction, and manufacturing sectors in Indonesia.
Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Ahmad served as Deputy Minister for Finance and Risk at Indonesia’s Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises, where she was responsible for strategic planning, financial reporting, risk management, and portfolio restructuring and reorganization. She also sat on the supervisory boards of the state-owned companies Bank Mandiri and PLN. Ms. Ahmad’s other notable assignments include leading multiple corporate finance projects as transaction advisory Partner with EY in multiple jurisdictions including Indonesia, Qatar, Kuwait, and Egypt.
Ms. Ahmad earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Universitas Gadjah Mada and an MBA from INSEAD. She is qualified as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and is a frequent speaker in the fields of corporate finance, risk management, and board governance.
