Mike Pfister

With more than 35 years of IT and oil and gas experience, Mr. Pfister has helped companies benefit through each major transition of IT via distinct innovation, notably in cloud adoption and establishing an AI strategy.
Mr. Pfister’s notable assignments include a leadership role as Chair of the CIO committee of the American Petroleum Institute (API), managing the organization dynamics of teams of 1,200+ technical employees, optimizing annual budgets in excess of $700 million, and creating service-oriented teams that built and maintained reliable technology environments which employees were proud of.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Pfister spent 10 years with ConocoPhillips in Houston, where he served as CIO. In that role, he helped ConocoPhillips thrive through major industry challenges and opportunities. Prior to that, he worked at Halliburton for five years, serving as CIO for the Global IT function as well as the Landmark software division.
Mr. Pfister earned a bachelor’s degree in computing science from Texas A&M University. He has participated as a member of the Gartner Research Board and the API, and he was recognized as a Distinguished Alumni of his alma mater. He has also participated on the boards of Big Brothers Big Sisters and United Way.
