Michael Pesch
Dr. Pesch’s primary areas of concentration include managing complex value creation programs and strategic, operational, and financial restructurings, both as an advisor and in Chief Transformation Officer (CTO) roles. In addition, he is a leading expert in corporate support function optimization as well as labor codetermination, including managing interactions with works councils and unions.
Dr. Pesch has worked with 50+ clients across a range of industries in Europe, the US, and the Middle East, spanning automotive, machinery, steel, high-tech, pharma, and chemicals. His notable assignments include being responsible for the design and implementation of a holistic cost optimization program for a leading automotive supplier, resulting in cost improvements of €200 million; co-leading a multiyear, holistic transformation program for an electrical equipment manufacturer from design to implementation, targeting more than €1 billion of impact; and overseeing a company-wide indirect cost optimization program across all corporate support functions for a leading pharma company, delivering €300 million of cost improvements.
Dr. Pesch also led a strategic and operational restructuring program for a portfolio company of a leading debt fund to secure the refinancing of €200 million of debt via a debt-to-equity swap, and advised the supervisory board of a global agriculture company during the refinancing of €4 billion of debt.
Prior to joining A&M, Dr. Pesch was a Partner at Bain & Company where he was part of the leadership team in the performance improvement practice in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DACH). He also served as a Partner at McKinsey & Company, where he was a leader in Recovery & Transformation Services (RTS).
