Michael P. Huseby is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Corporate Performance Improvement in New York. He specializes in business model transformation, financial turnarounds, and strategic growth across complex corporate environments. His primary areas of concentration are operational improvement, capital structure recapitalization, financial restructuring, and corporate governance.

With more than 30 years of executive leadership and financial experience, Mr. Huseby has led large-scale transformations across the telecom, education, media, energy, and real estate sectors. He has served as CEO, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and board member in both public and private companies and has extensive experience in digital transformation, M&A integration, and enterprise value creation.

Mr. Huseby’s notable assignments include serving as CEO of Barnes & Noble Education (BNED) and Barnes & Noble, Inc. (BN). He led BN’s corporate restructuring, eventually culminating in its sale to a financial sponsor, and BNED’s transformation, turnaround, and recapitalization following its spin-off from BN.

Mr. Huseby also served as Executive Vice President and CFO at Cablevision Systems, CFO at Charter Communications, and held senior roles at AT&T Broadband, where he played an instrumental role in its merger with Comcast. 

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Huseby spent 23 years with Andersen Worldwide and Arthur Andersen in Chicago and Denver, where he served as a Global Equity Partner. He held leadership positions across telecom, energy, and real estate, working with C-suite clients on financial and operational performance improvement. Mr. Huseby has also served as a board director for Charter Communications, CommerceHub, Whip Media, and Cablevision, including such roles as Audit and Special Committee Chair.

Mr. Huseby earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder. He has held a number of leadership positions in civic nonprofit boards and educational institutions on a volunteer basis during his career.
