Laurence Morgan is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Restructuring in London. He brings over 15 years of restructuring experience and specialises in advising lenders and borrowers in stressed and distressed situations, working with both listed and privately owned businesses.

Mr. Morgan has extensive experience working on complex and cross-border financial restructuring assignments, often including business plan development, liquidity reviews, stakeholder options analysis, contingency planning and insolvency advice. He has advised lenders, investors and corporates across a range of sectors and jurisdictions. His recent experience includes retail, casual dining, infrastructure (including PFI/PPP structures), construction, industrial products and education.

Some of Mr. Morgan’s recent engagements include advising a multinational group of lenders to a Dutch Education business on their restructuring options and a KSA-based lender regarding the restructuring of an industrial products business.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Morgan was a Director with Deloitte’s Financial Advisory business, where he worked on some of their largest and most complex restructuring cases including the recapitalisation of Italian tyre manufacturer Prometheon, the restructuring of German outdoor brand Jack Wolfskin and advising the lenders to the Derby Energy from Waste PFI.

Mr. Morgan also has banking experience, having been seconded to Lloyds Banking Group for a period of 18 months.

Mr. Morgan earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and economics from the London School of Economics. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has passed the Joint Insolvency Examinations Board exams. Mr. Morgan is a trustee and treasurer of the Cheetah Conservation Fund UK and the African Conservation Foundation.
