Klaus Gerber is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Turnaround in London. He specializes in structuring complex financial and refinancing transactions, developing and implementing business plans, assessing performance improvement issues and forecasting and managing cash flow, both as a project-based advisor and an interim executive. Mr. Gerber has extensive international experience, including with the U.S. Chapter 11 process.

Mr. Gerber has served clients in various industries, including construction, consumer products, logistics, manufacturing, commodity chemicals and others. He has worked as an interim CRO, CFO, Administrator, and Liquidating Agent, partnering with management and boards of directors and liaising with stakeholders, including legal advisors, lenders, and investment bankers.

Currently, Mr. Gerber is the Interim CRO of a renewable biodiesel company, negotiating forbearance agreements with the lender group, establishing transparency and credibility, and running a competitive process to refinance or sell the business. Previously, he developed and implemented a transformation plan for a $1.7 billion logistics company. Through realizing support infrastructure synergies by creating shared service centers, reducing direct costs, and capitalizing on revenue enhancement opportunities, Mr. Gerber identified $60+ million in measurable EBITDA improvements.

Prior to that, Mr. Gerber served as CFO of a $320 million vertically integrated consumer-products company. He restructured the company’s finance and accounting function, re-developed its budget, completed the year-end audit, and navigated the company through a liquidity crisis. Mr. Gerber also integrated the sister company, implemented an overall cost takeout, and led the company through a refinancing process after developing a long-term forecast and investment memorandum.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Gerber was a Senior Associate with KPMG in the transaction services practice.

Mr. Gerber earned a degree in business (Diplom Kaufmann) from the University of Nuremberg, Germany and an MBA from the University of Georgia. A German and U.S. national, he is fluent in German and English.
