Mr. Thormann has worked with clients in machine and equipment manufacturing, food and beverage, automotive, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and diversified industrials. Notably at A&M, Mr. Thormann supported a global tools and outdoor product manufacturer to execute its value creation program across three continents. He ran rapid diagnostics focusing on four-wall analysis, shaped the implementation program, and delivered EBITDA benefits.  

Mr. Thormann assisted a private equity-backed European food manufacturer to shape and execute its value creation program. He assessed performance improvement via rapid results diagnostics, built business cases to shape its future footprint, and led operational efficiency initiatives for throughput gains, reduction of process waste, giveaways, and headcount reduction. Operational performance increased from 15% to 50%, and footprint optimization led to the closure of five out of 13 sites.

Mr. Thormann advised CVC on the acquisition of Teva’s women’s health portfolio by developing a target operating model for commercial operations, validating a resizing proposal for the sales force worldwide, and identifying value creation opportunities in the go-to-market model and sales force efficiency. He also led an operational excellence program for a private equity client where he managed performance improvement opportunities across selected manufacturing lines. Output increased by 70%, lead time was reduced by 60%, and work-in-progress on the line decreased by 50%, which translated into recurring EBITDA benefits of €9+ million.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Thormann spent seven years with KPMG and six years with Celerant Consulting. He worked with clients and investors across Europe, the Americas, and Asia on projects ranging from integration advice to operational excellence and restructuring/turnaround. 

Mr. Thormann earned an MBA (organization, strategy, and logistics) from the Technical University of Munich and a master’s degree in chemistry from the Technical University Darmstadt. He is fluent in German and English.
