Joseph Gordon
Mr. Gordon has been appointed by the Supreme Court of Bermuda as liquidator on fund and reinsurance company liquidations, as well as for hedge funds and local operating companies, many with assets located outside the jurisdiction. He has also been appointed as liquidator on numerous voluntary liquidations of Bermuda companies, served as liquidator of a Hong Kong–incorporated entity, and supported local banks in recovery and workout engagements.
Mr. Gordon has worked on insolvency and restructuring projects in the Caribbean region, including several appointments in Bermuda involving fund liquidations (Forsyth Funds, Sagecrest Ltd, and Advantage [Bermuda] Fund Ltd) and insurance insolvency cases (Professional Asset Indemnity Ltd and First Security Reinsurance Ltd). His expertise spans corporate governance, strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and business development, and he has consistently demonstrated an ability to lead businesses in highly regulated environments.
Mr. Gordon was appointed by the Supreme Court of Bermuda as liquidator of Diversified Funds Platform Ltd, Dck Bermuda Ltd, and Titan Petrochemicals Group Ltd. He also worked on the insolvency of Lehman Brothers in Europe and Lehman Re, the Bermuda-domiciled reinsurance entity.
Mr. Gordon earned a bachelor’s degree in physics and mathematics from the University of Durham and a postgraduate degree from the University of Cambridge Judge Business School. He is an experienced Insolvency Practitioner (IP) in Bermuda, Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW FCA), member of the Certified Professional Accountants of Bermuda (CPA Bermuda), and member of INSOL International. Mr. Gordon also serves as Treasurer and committee member of the Recovery and Insolvency Specialists Association of Bermuda (RISA Bermuda).
