Jorge León is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal in Mexico City. He brings more than 15 years of experience in financial restructuring, accounting analysis, corporate finance, and asset management.

Mr. León has worked on financial restructuring projects for clients in various industries, including chemical engineering, fast-fashion retail, and financial services. He also has significant experience in accounting, forensic accounting, and contract disputes and investigations. He has served as a financial and accounting expert witness for contractual and accounting disputes in arbitration processes in Mexico, including damages calculation.

Notably, Mr. León leads the treasury and credit operations as part of the liquidation process of CIBanco and Banco Ahorro Famsa, for which A&M served as court-appointed liquidator. He is also responsible for the asset management of Madero Reserve and Marverde Infraestructura, two Mexican special purpose vehicles established for sale and lease transactions of Pemex assets in Mexico.

Mr. León served on the investment team of the BlackRock infrastructure fund in Mexico, where he participated in several M&A processes and oversaw the management of different funds’ portfolio assets as part of a secondment engagement.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. León also worked for Hipotecaria Su Casita, where he served as the lead expert for debt-structured issuances worth over $700 million. He also developed new credit products and assisted financial institutions in emerging markets to build technical capabilities to increase low-income households’ access to financial services.

Mr. León earned a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics from the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM) and an MBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. A Spanish native speaker, he is also fluent in English and French.
