Mr. Tam specializes in valuation of companies, intangible assets, loans, and corporate financial instruments. He has performed and led valuation engagements in various contexts, including commercial (fundraising, pricing analysis, fairness opinions, and restructuring), expert determination, financial reporting (including portfolio/illiquid asset valuation and, purchase price allocations and impairment under IFRS, FRS 102, or U.S. GAAP), tax (legal entity reorganization and intellectual property transfer), and statutory purposes (U.K. Companies Act Section 593).
Mr. Tam has worked with clients across a wide variety of sectors, including: asset and wealth management, banking and capital markets, fintech, industrials, infrastructure and renewable energy, insurance, private equity, and telecommunications. His experience also includes working on multiple overseas and cross-border transactions in Europe, the Middle East, and Central and Southeast Asia.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Tam was a Director in the Deal Advisory Valuations team at KPMG in London, where he focused on advising clients in financial services. In this role, Mr. Tam worked on and led a range of valuations engagements, from high-profile restructuring of FTSE-listed businesses to complex internal reorganizations for a large global bank based in the U.S.
Mr. Tam earned a master’s degree from the University of Oxford and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
