John Odenweller is a Senior Director with Alvarez & Marsal Restructuring & Turnaround in Charlotte. He specializes in advising companies through financial and operational restructuring situations. His main areas of concentration are strategic planning, creditor and stakeholder negotiations, liquidity and working capital management and Chapter 11 filing preparations.

Mr. Odenweller has worked alongside management teams to successfully restructure businesses in a variety of stressed and distressed situations, including prepackaged bankruptcy filings, cross-border Chapter 11 cases and distressed mergers and acquisitions and 363 sales. He has also served in interim FP&A roles for clients going through operational turnarounds and advised on merger integrations and carve-outs.

Additionally, Mr. Odenweller has worked with clients across a range of industries, including power generation, airlines, oil and gas, oilfield services, transportation and logistics, retail, manufacturing, grocery and hospitality. His notable engagements include Talen Energy, LATAM Airlines, Halcon Resources, Carbo Ceramics, Geokinetics, Celadon Group, Aeropostale, LSC Communications, Hertz Equipment Rental, Southeastern Grocers, American Trailer World and Mountain Creek Resorts.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Odenweller served as Managing Director in the Corporate Finance and Restructuring practice at FTI Consulting. Previously, he held various finance and corporate strategy positions with Duke Energy, United Technologies Corporation, Goodrich Aerospace and Time Warner.

Mr. Odenweller earned a BBA from the University of Notre Dame. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
