Jason Penman

Mr. Penman works with clients to understand and manage risk, liquidity, capital and balance sheet effectively. He also supports clients on complex disputes and investigations involving capital markets issues.
Mr. Penman’s notable recent experience includes developing regulatory models and processes to improve IRRBB, ICAAP/ILAAPs, stress testing, and recovery/resolution plans. He has also supported clients responding to regulatory scrutiny and identifying capital and balance sheet optimisation opportunities. In disputes and investigations, his recent projects include litigation related to complex notes and exotic hedging products.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Penman worked as a Managing Director and Head of Capital & Balance Sheet Management at Nat West. He built and led a multi-discipline team over a 10-year period, directly managing and optimizing bank risk, capital, liquidity and balance sheet. He also worked in the management team to re-shape the business and was responsible for identifying and managing extensive legacy risk issues.
Previously, Mr. Penman served as a Business CFO, Head of Strategy & Planning at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (Europe) and held risk management positions. He was also CFO and part of the management team in a start-up specialist lending business.
Mr. Penman earned a bachelor's degree in law and is a qualified accountant.
