Emily Kornegay

With more than 20 years of executive branch experience, Ms. Kornegay has led large teams to formulate, negotiate, and execute billions of dollars in funding for housing programs, manage over $5 trillion in receipts at the IRS, and provide daily operational support for the US Department of the Treasury’s fiscal systems.
Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Kornegay served as Chief of Staff at the IRS, where she helped to lead a transformation with the Commissioner. She previously served as Budget Director for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, leading the execution of $73 billion in resources. She was a Senior Advisor in the Treasury’s Office of Domestic Finance, where she was involved in managing daily cash flows for the federal government. She began her career at the White House Office of Management and Budget, working in labor policy analysis and legislative affairs, including on a strategy for negotiating appropriations bills with Congress.
Ms. Kornegay earned a bachelor’s degree in government from Dartmouth College and a master’s degree in public affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin.
