David Blanks

With more than 14 years of restructuring experience, Mr. Blanks has worked across a range of industries, including energy (E&P and midstream), coal, LTL trucking, logistics, utilities, commodities trading/finance and healthcare.
At A&M, Mr. Blanks has been involved with several high profile in-court and out-of-court debtor side restructuring engagements, including YRC Worldwide Inc., Coach America Inc., Energy Future Holdings Corp., Magnum Hunter Resources Corporation, Lilis Energy, Inc, FTS International, Inc., Energy Alloys, LLC, Azure Midstream Partners, Quorum Health Corporation, GS Foods Group, Envision Healthcare and Westmoreland Coal Company.
Mr. Blanks’ contributions to these engagements primarily involved long-term operating forecasting, cash forecasting, vendor management, contract analysis, liquidation and valuation analysis, creditor diligence process management and general bankruptcy preparation and analysis.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Blanks was a portfolio analyst at Highland Capital Management on the fundamental trading desk, where he was responsible for identifying attractive investment opportunities in the industrials, energy and retail sectors. Previously, Mr. Blanks was an investment banking analyst at Morgan Stanley in New York, where he covered the industrials, aerospace and defense and business services sectors.
Mr. Blanks earned a bachelor’s degree in applied economics and management (cum laude) from Cornell University.
