Mr. Kelly has more than 15 years of financial and operational experience working with companies to enhance performance across a variety of industries, including financial services, government contracting, publishing, manufacturing, business services, and non-profit foundations.
In Mr. Kelly’s most notable assignment, he served as the Co-Treasurer of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc. where he was responsible for cash and liquidity management, investment management, and currency risk management.. In this role, he managed a global team with members across North America, South America, Europe and Asia. He accomplished much in his four-and-a-half years at Lehman, including implementing a hedging program to protect the value of over $2 billion in foreign currency denominated assets, implementing a new investment program to generate $50 million in incremental annual interest income, and negotiating with financial institutions to release over $1 billion in frozen cash and collateral.
Most recently, Mr. Kelly has assisted a financial services institution with operations in over 20 countries in evaluating and developing restructuring plans and improving financial forecasting.
Other notable assignments have included assisting a global investment fund emerge from bankruptcy; assisting multiple government contractors to reduce costs, improve working capital, improve cash flow forecasting and negotiate amendments to credit facilities; conducting business plan reviews in the building goods and publishing industries; and assisting a non-profit foundation evaluate restructuring options and pursue a successful orderly wind-down.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Kelly held several leadership roles in sales, marketing and business development with Dun & Bradstreet (D&B). Much of his time was spent developing restructuring plans for internal business units and evaluating corporate acquisitions.
Previously, Mr. Kelly was the Director of Strategy and Operations for Exclusively Misook, an apparel manufacturer where he helped restructure operations to grow the business from $6 million annual revenue to $45 million in only three years
Mr. Kelly earned a bachelor’s degree in commerce with concentrations in finance and management information systems from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and an MBA from Columbia University. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) and has passed all the tests for a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA).
