Carmen Yeung is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Restructuring in Hong Kong SAR. She specializes in restructuring and consulting advisory in the Chinese mainland and Southeast Asia. Her main areas of concentration include receivership, liquidation and financial restructuring. Ms. Yeung has worked across a range of industries, including manufacturing, steel, petrochemicals, financial services, education and shipbuilding.

With more than 14 years of experience, Ms. Yeung has developed a deep understanding of restructuring regimes and offshore jurisdictions. She has worked with companies in multiple jurisdictions to pursue financial restructuring through different avenues. 

Most recently at A&M, Ms. Yeung advised real estate companies and creditors in offshore debt restructuring situations; participated in the restructuring of Luckin Coffee Inc.; and consulted with an ad hoc group of lenders on the $2.6 billion debt restructuring of Genting Hong Kong Limited.

Ms. Yeung’s notable assignments include advising a Chinese financial institution on loan recovery strategy and assisting in disposing the controlling stake of a Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing listed company through receivership sale. Additionally, she served as Interim Controller with Noble Group, where she monitored the accounting audit and compliance of debt covenants and facilitated communication with investors and asset management on various financial improvement initiatives.   

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Yeung spent seven years with a Big Four accounting firm in the Hong Kong SAR, where she worked on several cross-border restructuring and insolvency assignments. These assignments included the liquidation of Lehman Brothers Hong Kong; the inspectorship and provisional liquidation of a Hong Kong SAR listed manufacturer of heat transfer products; the bankruptcy reorganization of Shanghai Chaori Solar; and the restructuring of Ambow Education. 

Ms. Yeung earned a BBA (concentration in global business and finance) from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. She is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder.
