Mr. Casta’s most notable achievements include overseeing the new product development and commercialization for the largest spinal new product introduction program with annual revenues exceeding $1 billion, leading the strategic planning and operational turnaround for a large publicly traded medical technology business with annual revenues of $750 million, and overseeing the product development and commercialization activities across multiple businesses with annual new product revenues exceeding $60 million.
Mr. Casta also notably led the operational turnaround for a privately held medical technology business and increased organic new product revenue from $0.3 million to $20.0 million (150% compound annual growth rate), led the business integration of a surgical robotics technology used for minimally invasive surgery for the brain, and oversaw the development and commercialization of the first multi-use surgical robot for use in the brain, spine, and total knee replacement.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Casta was a Senior Director at ICON’s Medical Device and Diagnostics division, where he had full profit and loss responsibility to a global clinical trial portfolio of $250 million with over 200 sites and 4,000 actively enrolled patients. ICON is a Dublin-based contract research organization that provides consulting services to support global clinical trials.
Mr. Casta has extensive experience in medical technology research and development, operations, and program management. He has held key leadership positions in large companies such as Medtronic, Smith & Nephew, and Zimmer Biomet. His experience spans multiple industries including medical technology, technology consulting, and clinical research.
Mr. Casta earned a bachelor’s degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and has been a certified project management professional for over 20 years.
