Bernadette Cullinane is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Performance Improvement in Perth. She focuses on delivering value through operational, commercial, and technology-led transformation across the energy and resources sector, including oil and gas, liquefied natural gas (LNG), mining, energy transition, and decarbonization.

With 30 years of global experience, Ms. Cullinane has led major programs delivering improvements in operational performance, cost efficiency, and organizational effectiveness for energy and resources companies, governments, and regulators across more than 30 countries. She is known for driving execution in complex environments, aligning stakeholders, building high-performing teams, and delivering sustained performance outcomes.

Ms. Cullinane’s experience includes leading growth and expansion strategies that shape investment decisions, operating model and technology transformations that improve productivity and reduce costs, and digital and AI deployments that enhance decision-making and efficiency. She has also led carbon capture and storage initiatives, emissions reduction programs, and biofuels strategies.

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Cullinane spent over nine years with Deloitte Australia, where she served as Partner, Energy, Resources, and Industrials Industry Leader, Energy and Chemicals Leader, and Asia–Pacific Vice Chair. In these roles, she led major programs, including SAP S/4HANA and digital implementations, and advised senior executives on strategy, operations, and energy supply chain, security, and transition priorities.

Earlier in her career, Ms. Cullinane held leadership roles with Accenture, Arthur Andersen Business Consulting, and SAIC. She began her career with Exxon in strategic planning, operational, and trading roles in the US and Singapore.

Ms. Cullinane earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Delaware, a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Houston, and an MBA from Columbia Business School. She is a Fellow of Engineers Australia (formerly the Institution of Engineers, Australia), a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), and a member of Chief Executive Women and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). Ms. Cullinane received the 2024 SPE “Sustainability and Stewardship in the Oil and Gas Industry Award” for the South Asia and Pacific region.
