Anne Markey is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Disputes and Investigations in London. Ms. Markey specializes in financial crime advisory, policy, data, technology, remediation, and transformation within financial services. Her primary areas of concentration include anti-money laundering (AML), know your customer (KYC), fraud, anti-bribery and corruption (ABC), sanctions, and data and analytics.

Ms. Markey brings more than 20 years of banking experience working with regulators across multiple jurisdictions and delivering complex, high-profile financial crime transformation programs. She has led enterprise-wide data strategy and governance, ensuring high-quality, trusted data to support risk, regulatory, and business outcomes and enablement of AI. Her approach is outcome-focused, leveraging AI, automation, and advanced analytics to enhance detection, reduce false positives, and improve decision-making.

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Markey spent three years with Deutsche Bank in London where she served as a Managing Director and Global Head of Compliance and Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) Data and AFC Risk Intelligence. In this role, she acted as Divisional Data Officer (DDO) and Global Head for financial crime risk assessment, client risk rating, risk appetite, digital assets, data analytics, and management information. Prior to this, Ms. Markey served as Managing Director and Global Head of Financial Crime Prevention (FCP) Risk Intelligence at UBS for 11 years, where she headed global fraud, anti-bribery and corruption, digital assets, geopolitics, risk assessment, client risk rating, risk appetite, data analytics, and innovation.

Ms. Markey earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of Manchester. She is a Chartered Accountant (CA) and member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), and she holds the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment Institute investment management certificate.
