Jim Bulkowski
With more than 25 years of experience, Mr. Bulkowski has advised multinational corporations, financial institutions, and Fortune 500 companies on risk management, captive insurance structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and tax strategy. His work has involved leading complex transactions, creating innovative risk transfer solutions, and delivering measurable financial results for clients.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Bulkowski was a senior manager with a Big Four global insurance division, where he held several leadership roles, including Co-Leader of the Americas Captive Services group and Leader of the Insurance Diligence Transaction and Corporate Insurance Consulting groups. He also completed a multiyear secondment in the Cayman Islands, where he helped expand the firm’s Captive Insurance Consulting practice across the Caribbean.
Before his Big Four tenure, Mr. Bulkowski held senior roles at several large insurance brokerage firms, where he developed and managed large client portfolios, led merger and acquisition advisory engagements, and designed complex insurance programs across domestic and international markets.
Mr. Bulkowski earned a bachelor’s degree in management science from SUNY Oswego and a master’s degree in finance from Boston University. He also holds several professional designations, including Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI), and Associate in Insurance Services (AIS). Mr. Bulkowski is also a retired United States Army Colonel where he held multiple leadership roles and led large-scale training operations supporting thousands of personnel across multinational environments, including NATO missions and joint international exercises. His military service included a combat deployment in Afghanistan, and he was awarded numerous honors, including the Legion of Merit and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. Mr. Bulkowski is a frequent speaker at industry events, a published author, a member of the captive “Power 50”, and an educational content creator.
