James O'Hagan
With more than 20 years of tax experience, Mr. O’Hagan has advised large multinational groups operating in Ireland on matters relating to intellectual property structuring and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. He has been responsible for providing transaction tax advisory services to some of the largest domestic groups operating in Ireland. Mr. O’Hagan also has significant experience in restructuring tax matters and has provided tax advice to professionals on some of Ireland’s most complex restructuring cases.
Mr. O’Hagan’s notable assignments include advising a large multinational pharma group on post-acquisition integration of operations and leading the Irish buy-side tax due diligence on the acquisition of DCC’s Exertis group by AURELIUS. Mr. O’Hagan also advised an Irish mining company through a successful Canadian public listing.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. O’Hagan spent seven years with EY in Dublin, where he most recently served as Director. While there, he led teams providing Irish tax compliance and advisory services to some of the largest multinational groups operating in Ireland.
Mr. O’Hagan earned a bachelor’s degree in business studies from the National University of Ireland. James is also an Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualified accountant and a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA).
