Hidayat Liu
Mr. Liu specializes in delivering sustained, substantial performance breakthroughs for large institutions, with a focus on embedding innovation and technology at the core of business process redesign and capability enhancement. His primary areas of concentration include enterprise transformation, performance improvement, operating model redesign, and value creation.
With more than 25 years of consulting and corporate experience, Mr. Liu has led large-scale transformation and performance improvement programs across the resources, energy, industrial, logistics, financial services, and healthcare sectors. Notably, he has focused on helping clients drive sustained EBITDA improvement while strengthening employee engagement and customer satisfaction.
Mr. Liu’s notable assignments in the resources sector include delivering post-acquisition value capture and processing optimization across the value chain in multiple commodities including aluminum, copper, gold, nickel, and coal. In the energy sector, he optimized performance for a downstream oil and gas company’s network of five refineries and 3,000+ retail stations. In the industrial sector, Mr. Liu conducted an organization redesign for a leading global pulp and paper company with combined output of more than 15 million tons. In the logistics sector, he redesigned the supply chain footprint for 100+ distribution centers for a heavy equipment supplier. In the financial sector, Mr. Liu improved productivity across a network of 250,000+ agents for a leading life insurance company in Southeast Asia. In healthcare, he redefined the operating system for a provider with network of hospitals of 2,500+ beds and eight outpatient clinics.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Liu spent several years with McKinsey & Company, where he most recently served as a Partner and held leadership roles across the Southeast Asia Basic Materials, Southeast Asia Digital Business Building, and Asia Metals and Mining practices. He also served on the Executive Committee at Grab. Earlier in his career, he managed technical engineering for Esquel Group and began his career with Advanced Micro Devices in the US.
Mr. Liu earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Purdue University and a master’s degree in management science and engineering from Stanford University.
