Norman Academia
With more than 20 years of M&A experience, Mr. Academia has advised private and public companies across the transaction life cycle. He has worked on multiple acquisition and disposition transactions and has estimated tax attributes, such as stock basis, asset basis, and earnings and profits, for numerous domestic and foreign companies. Mr. Academia has worked with clients across various industries, including consumer products, gaming, grocery retail and wholesale, healthcare, logistics, media and entertainment, technology, and private equity.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Academia spent four years with Fortive as Senior Tax Counsel, overseeing M&A tax, global tax controversy, and the technical aspects of tax planning. Before that, Mr. Academia was a Partner in EY’s Transaction Tax practice in Los Angeles. He also led EY’s West region Tax Attributes and Planning group.
Mr. Academia earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Southern California and a JD and LLM in taxation from the University of San Diego School of Law. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of California. Mr. Academia is also a licensed attorney and a member of the State Bar of California.
