David Schneider is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Tax in Chicago. He focuses on federal and international income tax planning for multinational corporations, large partnerships, and portfolio companies. His work centers on identifying and implementing tax planning strategies that deliver permanent tax savings, improved cash flow, and mitigate risk.

With more than 35 years of income tax planning experience, Mr. Schneider has delivered over $1 billion in tax savings for clients and has advised five Fortune 10 companies. His federal and international tax experience enables him to provide technical and practical guidance while managing tax risk.

Mr. Schneider’s notable assignments include serving as global lead partner for Caterpillar Inc. and Sazerac Company, as well as lead tax partner for clients such as Nike and Health Care Service Corporation. He has advised organizations across a range of industries, including industrial manufacturing, software/high-tech, retail and consumer products, and healthcare.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Schneider was a Partner at two Big Four accounting firms for a combined 25 years. In these roles, he led accounting methods and credit services (corporate tax planning) practices and was responsible for helping clients achieve their strategic income tax planning objectives.

Mr. Schneider earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Missouri–Columbia and an MBA from the University of Missouri–St. Louis. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in California, Illinois, Missouri, and Texas.
