Lial Field
With more than 15 years of experience in accounting and advisory, Mr. Field partners with management teams to stabilize and accelerate the finance function. He has experience sharpening month-end close to deliver more reliable and timely financial information, building month-end reporting cadence and greater transparency in financial results, upgrading accounting and internal control policies, and preparing companies for audits, exits, and public company standards.
Notably, Mr. Field served in interim and advisory capacities for a $2 billion SaaS portfolio company, where he led technical accounting, accounting processes, and integration workstreams. More specifically, he led finalizing opening/closing balance sheets and accounting for acquisitions under ASC 805, harmonizing policies with acquired entities, implementing ASC 842, streamlining and implementing key month-end close controls, establishing standard operating procedures aligned to a new enterprise resource plan, rationalizing the accounting organization, presenting to potential investors, and improving team morale and accountability.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Field was a Senior Manager at Grant Thornton, where he accumulated 13 years of public accounting experience. During that time, he worked with public and private companies in a variety of industries and gained extensive knowledge of US GAAP, SEC, and Public Company Accounting Oversight Board requirements. He also completed a two-year international rotation in Grant Thornton’s Singapore office.
Mr. Field earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in accounting from St. Louis University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in the states of Missouri and Illinois.
