Christian Ropel
Mr. Ropel brings 13+ years of experience in financial services, technology, and corporate development. His primary areas of concentration are transformation and strategy development, target operating model design, and value creation for private equity investors. Mr. Ropel has worked with clients across a range of financial services segments, including banking, fintech, wealth and asset management, and independent financial advisory, as well as market infrastructure.
Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Ropel served as Chief Business Development Officer and executive board member at a private equity-backed wealthtech group that included a firm he co-founded. In this role, he led corporate development, M&A, and post-merger integration initiatives, executing a buy-and-build strategy across continental Europe. He successfully completed two bolt-on acquisitions, doubling the company’s headcount, and enhanced operational efficiency through reorganization and realization of revenue and cost synergies. Before that, Mr. Ropel was Senior Vice President at AlixPartners, where he led business planning for a corporate-backed regtech venture, and Engagement Manager at Oliver Wyman, where he delivered more than 20 projects in corporate banking, market infrastructure, and risk management.
Mr. Ropel earned both a bachelor's and a master's degree (majoring in finance and accounting) from the University of Münster and has also completed studies at Virginia Tech. A German national, he is fluent in both German and English.
