Tamara Levin
Ms. Levin brings 17 years of experience with a leading tax practice at a globally recognized law firm. She is a trusted advisor to US and foreign multinational companies at all stages of growth, with a particular focus on clients in technology-based industries, including software, semiconductors, communications, biotechnology, medical equipment, and online service businesses. Ms. Levin specializes in advising on transfer pricing and tax planning matters, such as structuring and implementing international operations, cross-border transactions, intercompany transactions, and post-acquisition integrations. She helps clients comply with complex US and international transfer pricing rules and anticipate and prepare for global controversies in this area. Ms. Levin also provides tax planning advice for M&A and post-acquisition integrations.
Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Levin worked at Baker Mackenzie for 17 years, most recently as a Partner with its Tax Practice Group in San Francisco/Palo Alto. Her notable assignments included acting as lead transfer pricing counsel in connection with the integration of intangible property assets following multibillion-dollar acquisitions by an online service business. She also advised on strategic issues involving the merging of multiple cost-sharing arrangements for a communications company, assessed alternatives for structuring intercompany transactions for a foreign multinational online service business, and assisted a medical technology company with tax matters in connection with cross-border asset divestiture.
Ms. Levin earned a combined bachelor’s degree in English literature and mass communications as well as a JD from the University of California, Berkeley. She is a member of the State Bar of California. In addition, Ms. Levin is a regular speaker at internal workshops and seminars as well as external events sponsored by Bloomberg BNA and the Tax Executives Institute.
